Tatum Monod is a professional free skier who has never before been hunting. But she wanted to have the experience of working for her meal. Her longtime friend, Jessie Young, is a hunting guide in the Yukon and brought Tatum on her first hunt: a caribou hunt deep in Canada’s remote wilderness. Give the full story a read.
For this story, Tatum wrote the first draft. After I interviewed both Tatum and Jessie, I added more dimension and emotion so as to express the experience that was recounted to me. This story was highly regarded in the hunting community for its vulnerability and ability to change a perspective.
